Drivers (and other Volunteers) Wanted!

We need help on pick-up days! Most of our volunteers are people who participate in our Bright Orange Bag Program and we accept volunteers from this group first. Two weeks before a pick-up date we send out an email asking for volunteers.

Volunteer to Drive a Pick-Up Route

Every other month on the second Saturday, Food For Thought Project, Inc. needs volunteers to pick-up bright orange bags from homes in Cumming and Forsyth County, Georgia. Drivers begin these routes at 9:15 am. All routes end at Sgt. DP Land Memorial Lodge off Castleberry behind Fire Station #1.

Just 3 Hours Every Other Month is all it takes!

We try to organize pick-up routes so they're as close to your home as possible and provide maps and new bags to leave at homes when you pick-up a bag.  Bring a partner!  It's much easier with at least two people (one to drive and one to navigate), or make it a family time trip so kids and adults can volunteer together.  That's all it takes to be a Volunteer Driver!  Sign-up Today!
 

Volunteer to help in the clubhouse

Very special thanks to the Sgt. DP Land Memorial Lodge who donate their clubhouse on collection days!

If you can't drive or don't want to, we need folks at the clubhouse too!

Help out at our clubhouse location on Pilgrim Mill Road, where volunteers are ready to help prepare the bags to be delivered to local Forsyth County GA food banks and pantries.

Volunteers help unload the bright orange bags from cars and sort them to go immediately back out to local churches and pantries.

While we are not able to accommodate young children, clubhouse volunteering is great for High School students to fulfill some community service hours.
